Future Goals February 26, 2010

To be honest, I don’t really know what I want to do. I know I want to be happy and I know I want to make enough money to live comfortably. The most important future goal I have right now is to finish college in May 2012. Everything else matters very little except making sure I graduate college.

I know after college, I want to get a job. Working in the public relations field can open the door to work at some really fun places and I want to have a really fun, interesting job. I’d really like to be a publicist for either a sports figure or an actor/singer. I think that would be really fun. It would also be fun to work in the public relations department for somewhere like Coca-Cola or Disney. I want a job where I wake up every day and I’m really excited to go there. I don’t want to dread going to my job every day.

Another future plan I have is to travel….alot. When I was growing up, I never even left the South so traveling everywhere I can possibly go is something that’s very important to me. I want to get out of my comfort zone and experience new cultures and see the way other people live. I love history so I want to visit all these different places that have a lot of historical importance. I also want to visit iconic places such as the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the Taj Mahal.

Three Most Important People February 16, 2010

I have three people in my life who have made me who I am and are very important to me. They are as follows:

The first person is my dad. Ever since I was a little girl, my dad and I have always been close. We are nothing alike at all, yet we get along perfectly. From kissing my boo-boos as a girl to helping me with math and science homework to making sure my bank account is never empty, my dad has always made sure I have exactly what I need in life. I talk to him every single day and he can always cheer me up or give me great advice.

The second person is my best friend in the whole world, Abril Cabrera. We’ve been best friends since I was 15 and there is no other person in the world who is as similar to me as she is. After high school, she moved back to Mexico to live with her mom and I’m lucky if I get to talk to her once a week now. That was very difficult when I first started college and really needed my best friend. To go from seeing her every single day for four years to not seeing her or even being able to talk to her at all was really hard. She came back and visited me for three weeks this summer and those were some of the best three weeks of my life. I know our friendship is wonderful because we picked up right where left off. Not seeing each other for a whole year didn’t even phase our friendship. Although I don’t get to talk to her quite often as I would like, she’s still my best friend and I’m lucky to have her, even if she is a 3 hour plane ride away.

The last person is Victoria Evans. We’ve been best friends since the beginning of last school year when we met as neighbors in Eagle Village. Now she’s my roommate and the one person at Georgia Southern who knows me better than anyone. We have a class together every single day and yet I still don’t get sick of seeing her. We laugh about stupid things and she always has my back. I know Victoria and I will still be best friends for the rest of our time here at GSU and long after graduation.

An Item I Can’t Live Without February 12, 2010

One material item I absolutely cannot live without is my computer. It has everything on it that I could possibly need. My music, school work, facebook, twitter, my news, everything. I even watch TV on the internet. I carry my laptop with me everywhere and would be really sad if it broke.

Another item that is useful for me to have, although I really don’t need it is my cell phone. It’s convenient but I really don’t use it all the time and if I need to talk to someone, I can just use facebook. A cell phone would only be useful for being in the car or somethng like that.

I also really need my car although I don’t have to have it. I lived 16 years of my life without one so I could do it again. It would just be really inconvenient to have to walk to campus from my apartment. And I couldn’t go home on weekends if I didn’t have one.

Super Bowl!!!!! February 5, 2010

I love the Super Bowl. It’s like another holiday to me. There’s nothing better than sitting around with friends, eating pizza or wings and watching football. Growing up with a dad who was constantly watching football, I’ve grown to love the sport over the years and unlike a lot of people in the South, I really love pro football over college football. And again, thanks to my dad, I’m a huge Falcons fan.

This year, I’m going for the Saints. Not only have they had an excellent season, they are in the same division as the Falcons. The Saints winning makes the Falcons look good. The great thing about the Super Bowl this year, is that both teams who are playing, truly are the two best teams this season and I’m really excited to watch the game because it’s going to be a close one, hopefully.

Another reason I love the Super Bowl is, of course, the commercials. It’s the only time I actually enjoy watching commercials. Even though I really don’t have a commercial that sticks out in my mind as a favorite, I really do like to watch them and see how funny or creative they are. However, as much fun as watching commercials or scandalous halftime performances are, I really do enjoy the Super Bowl because of the game and the social time with friends.
